Just a few short weeks ago I was receiving about 80 to 100 emails each morning and more during the day. But recently that number has jumped to 190 to 200. Why the jump?

I believe it's because a number of people want to start their own business on the Internet or at least start making money on the Web.

But there is only one problem with what all those people are doing... well, really more than one.

First they are spamming. I have not opted in to their list. And most are using misleading subjects on their email which is now illegal per the United States Congress. But the worst part is that they don't have a chance of selling anything.

Why?

Well, let me tell you that I don't open any email until I read it on my email server (which is not my computer). Yes, I use Mail Washer Pro (http://firetrust.com) to read who the email is from and what the subject matter. If I have some question about the message I will read the first twenty lines (that shows up automatically with Mail Washer Pro. And if I really want to know more I will open the entire email right on the mail server. And remember, I have not downloaded the mail to my computer yet.

One of the reasons for my careful approach to email is that just three weeks ago I did manage to open a file that held a brand new virus/worm and I sure don't what to do that again if I can help it.

But one of the benefits of using this system is that I see a lot of messages sorted by time, email address, and subject.

So if you think you can go to some company that is offering to make you money and all you have to do is register, probably pay some money, and then let them send emails with your name on them, think again.

What these companies do is bundle all the email from all their suckers and send it to the same lists.

So what are your hopes of making a sale? Especially since each person gets a number of the same offers, just from different people.

That's one reason why I've been recommending DPCon, the conference that shows you how to create your own products. Now when you're reading this message, and if you're not already at DPCon, then it's too late to go now. But I want to share with you the reason why programs like DPCon are important.

To me one of the easiest ways of creating your own products is to use some form of multimedia. It can be as simple as an ebook with pictures, an audio program, or a video program. You have already seen two of our programs we've released showing how to create your own products.

Now you might wonder why creating a product showing how to use software or some special website would sell.

Just think about the evolution of software.

I remember when software came with a fully written book giving you all the steps needed to use that software. Now what do you get? An online help file that you have to know the right words to ask the question to get an answer. And even then you probably don't know how to use the information.

And that's why there is such an opportunity for anyone who wants to make products showing how to use specific software.

But wait, aren't there lots of books at Borders, Barnes & Nobel, and Amazon showing how to use software?

Have you ever tried to use them?

The answer is that there are just so many opportunities for creating products that help others - why bother with those useless money scams that others are doing.

I don't know about you but I know that's the direction I'm going.
