Creating Screen Capture Videos With Camtasia Studio
Bob Chambers

It's one of the coolest software programs for anyone who wants to show how to navigate a website, how to use a software product, or anything else that can be shown on your computer.

Of course, I'm talking about Camtasia at http://www.techsmith.com. About a year ago I was using RoboDemo (you can still see some of my tutorials on this site with that software). But when Camtasia updated their software to include the capability of encoding in Flash, I decided it's the best. At least until I find something that is either cheaper or works better.

Some time ago I created the Flash movie, It's About Time. It's about three minutes long and demonstrates what Camtasia can do. Recently I updated It's About Time and included additional functions that you can do with Camtasia.

And then I created a CDR that takes you through the steps on how to create all of the same techniques that you see on the It's About Time video. Things like zoom, callouts, editing, sound recording, creating logos, building an animation opening and closing.

In all there are approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes of Camtasia Flash videos on the Creating Screen Capture Videos With Camtasia CDR. And the interesting thing is that the videos take up only about one half of the CDR's space. Which means you could easily put four hours of Flash videos on one CDR.

Considering that you can only get about 20 minutes of full screen video on a CDR, being able to put four hours of Flash video is great. Even a DVD only holds about two hours of MPEG-2 videos.

Another nice feature is that once you've created your CDR you can easily make copies without having to send them to a professional duplicator house. And once you start selling a number of CDR's there are several services that will make copies and deliver them for you.

You can get more information at http://www.flashpublishers.com/products/item5.cfm.

And as a paid member of this website you get a $10 discount when you purchase Creating Screen Capture Videos With Camtasia Studio. When you place an order the software that runs my website, MemberGate at http://membergate.com, checks to see if you're a member and if you are, it puts in the discount automatically. It's magic!
