How To Accent Your Computer's Screen Like The Pros
Bob Chambers

You see it used on television often, someone wants to emphasize a point by drawing on the screen. It's really impressive and helps get your point across.

One of the easiest ways of doing that is with Camtasia. But what if you don't want to use that software to draw on your screen? Well, there is an inextensive way (it used to be free... but the Internet is changing) to do it.

The program is called WinPointer 2 and lets you make marks right on your computer screen. And you can instantly erase them by hitting the Esc button on your keyboard.

So what does it look like?

Here's a picture of the utility in action. All of the graphics I added using WinPointer 2. I then captured the image using SnagIt 7.0 (http://www.techsmith.com).

This is really a fun utility that you can use when you're recording your computer's monitor using your video camera. And it's easy to use. I drew those lines using my mouse.

You can get this utility plus all the present utilities already on PC Magazine's site plus the next year's worth of new utilities by joining their site. Present cost is $19.95 for a year. Go to http://www.pcmag.com and click on the "Download" tab on the top navigation bar. Information on joining is on the right side of that page. I'd give you the exact link but I'm a member and everytime I click on the join button I get the sign in page ;-(
